It seems very strange that 3 months ago I didnt have that much of an insight into websites, blogs and social media and therefore somewhat its somewhat exciting (albeit overwhelming) that I'm now going to start a blog about the life of a womens health physio, and the prospect of becoming a new mum myself.
You can find out more about me on the 'about' page of the site, but my Name is Jenna and I am a physiotherapist working out of the James Paget hospital in Gorleston, Norfolk.
I have recently started a new adventure with a local business - Rowen House Health and Well Being Centre - to deliver womens health services to the local community, outside of the NHS. Whilst the NHS offers fantastic services, it is great to be able to offer more options to girls and ladies around Norfolk in a beautiful setting and with a host of other therapies that complement the traditional medical model.
I'd like to use the blog to present what a womens health physio thinks about in order to show patients/ clients what can be offered. Womens health physio is a somewhat under recognised facet of physio, despite being a well evidenced therapy for managing womens health issues.
You can expect things that breakdown the taboo of womens issues but also educational materials as well as my own opinions on these concepts.
Im also going to use the blog to highlight my own journey though pregnancy, and to see if I can 'practice what I preach'. I'm going to be as honest as is possible within an open forum, which is going to be personally challenging (despite starting a blog, I'm not normally one for airing laundry) but also professionally so - my patients will be able to see if I myself am being a 'good patient'.
I hope you enjoy. I'd love to hear your thoughts so feel free to comment. However, please remember I'm just a normal girl from Norfolk (its quite quiet & 'not mean' up here!) so it'd be appreciated if trolling could be kept to a minimum!
